The International Career Development Conference is seeking proposals for 75-minute content workshops that describe and illustrate effective career development practices. These workshops will be scheduled for Friday and Saturday November 7 & 8, 2008. Presenters are encouraged to deliver their content in new and appealing ways. Proposal submission deadline is April 4, 2008.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Each proposal will be given careful review for:
- Relationship to conference theme: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future
- Timeliness and freshness of the topic
- Relevance to the career development field
- Speaking ability of the presenter(s)
- Creativity of approach
- Experience of the presenter(s)
- Learning outcomes
- References
EXPENSES
As a non-profit professional activity, the International Career Development Conference does not provide honoraria for workshop presenters. Presenters are expected to cover their own transportation, hotel, and handout reproduction. All presenters must register for the conference. Confirmed presenters may register at the reduced student rate.
PROMOTION
Presenters (except Vendor programs) must refrain from using workshop sessions to advertise or promote any product or service in which they have a monetary interest. Sale of materials is restricted to vendors in the exhibit area.
HANDOUTS
The room capacity will determine the number of handouts that the presenter is responsible for bringing to the conference. The Program Coordinator will advise you as to the room capacity. Please prepare handouts in advance of the conference. On-site photocopying at the conference is available at the presenter's expense.
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
The sponsoring organizations encourage presentations by women, minorities, and disabled persons. We welcome program content focused on women, minorities, veterans, and issues addressing disadvantaged people.
EQUIPMENT
Each workshop room will be equipped with the following equipment: (a) Overhead Projector (b) Screen (c) Flipchart and Easel with Pens. Any additional equipment will be at the presenter's expense.
LCD Projector: In an effort to control conference costs and make the conference affordable for everyone, we cannot support the use of LCD projectors for text presentations. We encourage presenters who are using Microsoft PowerPoint to have slides reproduced on transparency film for overhead projectors or to bring your own projector and computer. Also, internet connections are not available in most conference rooms at this time.

You will be asked to provide the following information:

4. SESSION DESCRIPTION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
- Descriptive paragraph up to 60 words that would attract people to attend this session.
- Identify the major goal of the session in one concise sentence.
- Identify three or four learning objectives (e.g. "Participants will be able to identify the fastest growing occupations.")
- One paragraph that highlights your professional expertise.
5. REFERENCES:
- Two individuals who can verify your ability to conduct this session. Include name, title, organization and daytime phone number.
6. AGREEMENT
- If this proposal is accepted, I agree to register for the conference (at the reduced graduate student rate) and deliver the session as described above. All presenters must register (except individuals outside our profession who will not attend any of the other conference functions).
- Do we have your permission to audiotape your presentation for later sale?
- Would you be willing to present your workshop twice during the conference?
- Signature of each presenter is needed.
7. BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Submit biographical information for each presenter. Speaker #1 will be considered the team leader and receive all communication from the Program Committee. It is the responsibility of the workshop leader to pass on information to the other speakers. Include name, title, daytime telephone, fax number, email address, organization, address, city, state, postal code, and country.
